Reclaiming Our Names is a participatory project exploring identity, memory, and cultural inheritance through the act of naming. Working with communities in Osun State, the project gathers personal stories about given names—how they were assigned, what they mean, and how individuals relate to them over time. Through interviews, documentation, and shared reflection, the project creates an archive of lived experiences that highlight the complexities of identity in contemporary contexts. It offers participants an opportunity to re-engage with language, lineage, and personal history, positioning naming as both a cultural and emotional process.
